You can buy compost at Coffin Butte Landfill. Made at the Pacific Region Compost Facility, Coffin Butte Landfill sells US Composting Council (USCC) Certified compost that is also Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) certified for use on organic farms.
The Pacific Region Compost Facility helps keep yard and food waste out of the landfill by turning it into nutrient rich compost and closing the organic loop. Compost nourishes soil, promoting healthy plants and reducing fertilizer reliance.

About the Pacific Region Compost Facility
The Pacific Region Compost Facility was built in the early 1990s in the heart of the Willamette Valley, in north Benton County, Oregon. It is one of the largest composting facilities in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Each year it transforms more than 100,000 yards of food, yard and garden waste into nutrient rich, OMRI and USCC STA tested and certified compost. We can fulfill customers’ needs no matter how big the request.
Our state-of-the-art facility turns organic material into nutrient-rich compost in less than 45 days. We use manual and automated sorting, screening, cleaning and composting techniques to remove contamination and ensure the highest quality compost.

Our OMRI-certified and USCC STA compost is created from local sources including commercial food and curbside residential pickup. Because our compost is made and sourced right here in our community, customers can feel good knowing that they are closing the organic loop with local compost ingredients.
